Who pays for the BEC - Western Riverina
- Griffith?
The BEC network in NSW is seed funded by the NSW Department
of State and Regional Development. Further local support comes
from the local councils in the areas we cover - primarily
in our region the Griffith City Council provides substantial
in-kind support. Other income is derived from training programs,
networking events and other fee-for-service activities including
a typing and secretarial service. The basic business advice
and facilitation is provided free of charge.
Why are BEC's so successful?
BEC's are generally locally based not-for-profit associations.
Although partly funded from Government funds, BEC's are largely
free from traditional limitations and bureaucratic controls
and can provide confidential and impartial services to the
local business community.
